The volunteer uniform and credential provides admittance. Volunteers stationed out on-course have the option of using nearby concession stands. Please note that the Volunteer Headquarters facility is for working VOLUNTEERS ONLY on the days you work. No friends or family members are allowed access to the Volunteer Headquarters.
Where do I park?
Volunteers can park at a dedicated lot convenient to Colonial. For 2014 Volunteers, click here for a map to this lot.
Do I get any tournament tickets?
Additional tournament credentials for registered volunteers will be available for purchase at a discount inside the Volunteer Headquarters, along with discounted tournament merchandise. Registered volunteers can also purchase discounted tickets in advance, through the Ticket Office, Tuesday-Friday from 9 am - 5 pm, beginningin March.
What about playing golf?
Volunteers who work the minimum required number of shifts for their committee during Tournament Week qualify for the Volunteer golf outing. The exact dates will be determined shortly after the event, with committees expected to be invited to play in the fall, usually November.
What volunteer opportunities are there?
The tournament organization includes numerous volunteer committees that perform a variety of tasks. A few do their work prior to the event (i.e.: Ticket Sales). Others do most or all of their work during the tournament week (i.e.: Marshals, Leaderboards, Transportation). Committee chairpersons typically seek volunteers who can work several days during the tournament. Each committee assigns specific tasks and times of work to each volunteer prior to tournament week. Most volunteers return year after year, which sometimes leads to relatively few openings for new volunteers each year, unless new committees are formed or existing committees enlarged – which can happen at any time.
